Book includes chapter by Peter Dale Scott!

Peter Dale Scott is a rare phenomenon - both poet and academic. In most people so gifted, one role blots out the other. But through a long life he has wondrously balanced both and written with distinction as both poet and academic.
His weaknesses are not connecting his separate examples and, secondly, not hazarding distinct conclusive concepts. Remaining within the perimeters of his many and fascinating regional anecdotes prevents direct radical articulation; as a poet, he leaves this for a reader/listener to imply or infer.
In the first decade of the twenty-first century, "deep politics" has become institutionalized. The US has set up huge security/intelligence organizations dedicated to destabilizing regions and states; careers at many levels in this imperial process have been started and currently progress with typical American zeal. The large costs have been factored into general government expenditures. - and debts.
The United States is now a predatory imperial power, unashamed of its genocidal behaviors since 1945 and grotesquely determined to tighten its control over ALL nation-states - their peoples, resources, wealth and loyalties.
One nation, the U.S., dominant over all: this is the somber reality facing humankind. The world enters a new corporate-controlled feudalism, not a world-cooperative democracy.
Peter Dale Scott would be unwilling to make as forthright a statement.
I offer it with complete conviction as a poetic insight, a solemn conclusion and an operative premise.
